Ryan is a fantastic personal trainer, full of fun, encouragement, energy and motivation. I have been training with Ryan twice a week for the past 5 years and I love his sessions they are always interesting and challenging and make me feel like I have had a really good work out.
Being a high level Judoka and representing Great Britain at a number of events including the World Veterans Championships where I came 5th, I use Ryan’s sessions for my Strength and Conditioning work to run alongside my normal Judo training. Ryan knows when to push me and how to push me to help me achieve my goals, but will also take on board my training needs when I have a competition coming up.
Ryan also has a great knowledge on dietary nutrition and has advised me over the years on what to eat and when to eat to ensure that I have the right balanced diet to allow me to maintain my weight and still train 4-5 times a week.
I am really lucky to have found Ryan and I couldn’t have got where I have with Judo in the past 5 years without his help.

Just had a morning session with this brilliant, motivational trainer! I am hard work....but he is always cheerful and supportive! Ryan's energy and enthusiasm is fantastic, he is understanding yet firm when encouraging me to improve. With his guidance I have lost 4 stone so far! It's a long journey, but I am confident with Ryan's help I will get there.
I wouldn't tell him this...but I actually really enjoy the sessions, even though I whine throughout!

Six months ago I was diagnosed with depression.
Exercise releases endorphins (your body's feel-good chemicals) and I was strongly advised to take part in a more social form of exercise than the solitary walking I was struggling to motivate myself to do. I’ve never been a person who enjoyed group activities, and was very self-conscious about going into a gym, always insisting it was not for me. My friends were talking about kettlebell classes and eventually persuaded me to try a class or two. After a few sessions, I realised that I was leaving the gym feeling tired, relaxed and in a better place mentally. For me, the rhythm and repetitive nature of the exercises give me a place where the thoughts in my head stop whirring round and I can listen to my body rather than my mind. Although I am part of a group, the only competition involved is with myself, and Ryan is always positive, never judging, and seems as delighted as I am when I achieve challenging exercises using weights I would never have dreamed of lifting a few months ago.
In addition I feel healthier; I am more supple with better muscle tone. The depression is still there, but I am starting to get to grips with it – thanks in no small part to the regular kettlebell classes with Ryan!

I started to work with Ryan eight weeks after my daughter was born in April 2013, in the last four months I am not only hugely fitter I have lost over 20 lbs.
Ryan is brilliant. He listens, he tailors the programme to what I want to achieve, he measures my progress and he pushes me harder and harder every week.
There is no doubt that the change in my diet has been a huge contribution to my weight loss, however Ryan has helped in that area too - he has given me advice on what and when to eat and by measuring the progress he has helped me keep focused and on track.
I highly recommend Ryan. If you are prepared to put in the effort then you will see massive results.

My life transformation started last year, when I humorously updated my status on Facebook asking my friends for details of a personal trainer. The idea came to me after a photo shoot at South West Studios, luckily one of the students on the photography course I was modelling for happened to add me on Facebook and was well acquainted with Ryan.
After booking a 12 session deal for £300 I must say I was slightly dubious as for a student this was particularly pricey, but I would say it was the best investment I have ever made. The body confidence and overwhelming feeling of good general health that I experienced is priceless. I have to admit it is no longer a chore to keep myself in shape as I’ve experienced how amazing it really can feel!
Ryan has definitely instilled some valuable health ethics in me and has led me to realise that I am capable of achieving anything I set my sights on.
Ryan comes highly recommended from me; he is the confidence and energy boost anyone needs who is perhaps thinking that they might give this fitness stuff a go!

I used to wake up most mornings with a stiff back (and blamed the bed!) but since kettlebelling with Ryan I have had no stiffness in spite of the fact that I travel a great deal by train during the working week. I find my posture has improved & I am losing weight. A result....many thanks!

2 years ago, I was the person who hated exercise, but also the way I looked. But now, that has completely changed, all thanks to Ryan.
Within the space of about 3 months, I became addicted! He’s put together 2 training programmes for me, the first focusing on mid to lower body, the second, after around 6 weeks, focusing on a more whole body work out. My original aim was to fit into a bridesmaid dress, which, when I started in January, was too small for me. The work outs involve using weights and large muscle groups, which, at first, I thought would make me look like Jodie Marsh!
However, now, 4 months on, the dress is slightly too big, and collectively, I’ve lost 5 ½ inches off my bust, waist and hips, approximately a dress size. I don’t look at the scales anymore, as my weight wasn’t moving due to muscle increase, and I know now it’s about how I look, and more importantly, feel, rather than what the scales say.
The newfound confidence I have in myself, has not only made me feel better about the way I look, but has also encouraged me to enter the Torbay Half Marathon, which I’ll be running in June!
He’s fantastic at getting you motivated to do things and keeping you there. Ryan will help you to accomplish your goals all the way, and advises on the best way to perform exercises, along with nutritional advice.
I have a lot to thank Ryan for.

I have found Ryan to be a very talented and knowledgeable trainer who has pushed me to the limits, something I wanted him to do! I'm physically fitter, stronger and I've managed to lose over a stone in weight. We continue to train together on a weekly basis and my next goal is a lot faster half marathon time. No pressure then Ryan!
I can thoroughly recommend Ryan whatever your goals are...

I would firstly like to say a missive thank you to Ryan, without his motivation and help I would not be as healthy as I am today.
When I was pregnant with my Daughter I had SPD (Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction) although this went away after I had her, a problem with my Coccyx remained and working in an office it meant that I was in a considerable amount of pain when sitting for more that 20 minutes at a time. Upon seeing a qualified Physio I was advised there was nothing I could do and it was permanent. I then proceeded to do core workouts with Ryan and within 2 weeks (only 2 sessions) the pain has gone and has never come back.
On top of the above, having the initial nutrition talk with Ryan also encouraged me to change my diet and life routine and I am now 2 1/2 stone lighter and I am eating much healthier and feel much better for it!
At the end of the day Ryan has been amazing with all aspects of the encouragment and help he has given me.
